About the Course
Cooking 101
Ingredients (supplies):
A comprehensive supply list will be provided by July 1st.
Directions:
In this class we will learn the key components of a recipe and how they work together. We will practice measuring ingredients and following a recipe. We will also learn key nutrition information and how to meal prep for a balanced meal.
First semester we will mostly do classroom work to set a foundation and understanding of how to succeed in the kitchen. Second semester will be mostly cooking in the kitchen.
Notes
Meetings: We will be practicing following a specific genre of recipe and discussing the components.
Home: Students will be completing a recipe as well as a reflection piece on how it went and what (if anything) they think they did wrong or could change to make it better.
