Winter Promise is a curriculum with many different options. They carry language art, theme programs, and a science program. To learn more about their theme programs head to the Boxed Curriculum page and to learn more about their language arts head to the Language Art Page. In this post I will be talking about Winter Promise - Science.
I've personally used 2 of their science curriculums - Dinosaur Days and Rock Around the Earth. I used each of these for a homeschool co-op class that I taught. The Dinosaur Days Co-op class I taught had 19 - 9 year old boys in the class!!! I thought it was going to be a crazy year, but it turns out this was one of my favorite classes I've ever taught. The Dinosaur Day curriculum held their attention so well. Each week they came to class excited and ready to learn about the next dinosaur family and were thrilled to talk with me about all they had learned during the week too. The curriculum was so strongly rooted in Scripture and I loved the tie ins with several great books from Answers in Genesis. The Rock Around the Earth was another fun curriculum with plenty of activities to hold my co-op classes attention, and again a foundation of curriculum built on the Word of God - which is so important to me. Currently there are 9 different unit study style science curriculums, ranging mostly in the elementary years though there are several for middle school and even one curriculum for high school. This is a curriculum that can be used with many ages and will keep the entire family engaged in the curriculum with many activities, experiments, and so much more for the year!
