Everyday Education is a wonderful resource for those looking to add a great literature and writing program to their high schoolers homeschool year. The curriculum has your student reading great classic literature, analyzing the literature and writing a paper after completing the reading. The final at the end of the year is taking the appropriate corresponding CLEP test, which I love! This means your student is earning college credits for completing this rigorous literature curriculum. There are 9 modules in this curriculum with easy to follow lesson plans. My oldest daughter used this curriculum for 3 of her 4 years of high school, we would have done all 4 if we had found it sooner. We have loved the choices of literature reading, discussing great classics together has been a joy and watching her digest, learn about the time periods and author and then tie all this information together into a beautifully written paper has been a joy as a parent to follow along with.
I would recommend this curriculum for any of your children in 8th - 12th grade who are strong readers and writers and want to dig into a more challenging college preparatory program. Everyday Education is a rigorous program and requires a lot of hard work, a lot of reading, and a lot of time as papers are written but the payoff is worth the work.
