There are so many resources on Etsy for the homeschool year. From digital homeschool planners, beautiful science prints and nature studies, and educational toys for the homeschool. Adding a few fun printables or a new learning toy can make all the difference in a homeschool year. I especially love looking up the science units we are studying to find fun learning printables (like the above Bee Unit!) Etsy is a great way to add some charm to our homes and homeschool.
Each of the buttons below is a link to one of my favorite stores on Etsy! Feel free to message me if you have questions about any of these resources or stores.
Cathy Duffy reviews are a gold mine of wisdom for the homeschool family. She has been reviewing homeschool curriculum since 1984. Cathy Duffy reviews are in depth, thorough, and unbiased. Before purchasing any curriculum take the time to check her website and see what she has to say. On more than one occasion she has either encouraged me to purchase something I was looking at or confirmed I should not be purchasing a curriculum.

Samaritan Ministries is a Christian health care sharing ministry. They have been around since 1994 and have been offering a Christian and biblical option for healthcare. Rather than being a part of a health care system that pays for things completely unbiblical - like abortions or various other procedures that are clearly against the Word of God, all of Samaritan Ministries coverages are biblical.
Our family has been members of Samaritan Ministries for 8 years now. I'll admit when we first left the security or what we thought was the security of regular health care I was nervous. We had little children and I wasn't sure how everything would work out. I have nothing negative to say about Samaritan Ministries. We have had broken bones, babies, ruptured spleens, and various other check ups or needs. Each time I have been pleasantly surprised by the care given. One of my favorite parts about Samaritan Ministries is that each month our payment goes directly to another member of Samaritan Ministries who has placed a claim for a medical bill. We get the opportunity to pray for families all over the nation, write cards and join together as sisters and brothers in Christ to care for each others needs. On the flip side when I birthed both Brylin and Ainsley and we were on the receiving end of the giving and letters from members I was in tears multiple times at the prayers and blessings people wrote over my children.
It is a joy and a blessing to be a part of this ministry and though it is not a homeschool thing both Ben and I would highly recommend homeschool families take the time to look into Samaritan Ministries and see if it could be a better health care option for your family

Heritage Defense is another organization like HSLDA that no homeschool family should be without. Heritage Defense defends the parents rights of a Christian homeschool family against illegitimate attacks by social services. They are the health side of HSLDA and at times a needed protection for a homeschool family. We should not be families who live in fear of a neighbor calling CPS on us, however having a membership with Heritage Defense can offer some peace if a situation arises.

HSLDA is the Homeschool Legal Defense Association and no Christian homeschool family should go without a membership to this amazing organization. HSLDA has been fighting for homeschool freedom for over 35 years. Not only will they represent you if you are a member of HSLDA if a need should arise but they are on the front line fighting day in and day out over every bill that is being proposed that could hurt the freedoms of homeschool families nationwide. Homeschooling is a gift that we have here in the United States and I'd love to see it continue to be a freedom we have and our children have if they want too. Supporting HSLDA is a great way to ensure our freedom stays just that - FREEDOM!
HSLDA is wonderful at notifying you of law changes in your state. They are communicating all the time when phone calls to a representative needs to be made or to show up for a rally at the capitol. HSLDA also has online classes your children can participate in. They also have staff who can help you with any curriculum or special needs help should it arise. The list of ways HSLDA helps a homeschool family go on and on. Please take the time to look at their website and prayerfully consider becoming a member of HSLDA.

Teach Them Diligently is hands down my favorite homeschool conference in the nation (I've lived all over the nation and have attended homeschool conferences all over the nation!) Teach Them Diligently is passionate about brining in Godly speakers who love the Lord, they do not allow just anyone in to speak nor do they allow just anyone in to sell at the vending hall. Their love for the Lord is evident in all that they do and in their morals and conference quality. I pray that each of the families in Raising Arrows has the chance to attend at least one Teach Them Diligently conference during their homeschool years.
The Teach Them Diligently website is also a great resource for looking at curriculum, hearing speakers, and growing as a homeschool parent. Even if you can't attend the conference this is a website you should check out often when looking at curriculum or for other resources.

Dual Credit at Home is a fantastic option for those with high school students. Dual Credit at Home makes is simple for your high school homeschooler to earn credits for both high school and college at the same time. I have not personally used this program, though I have gone to several sessions at homeschool conferences given by them. The information given at homeschool conferences by Dual Credit at Home was fantastic and I learned a ton from them. This is a resource that we will be using heavily with my son when he becomes a high school student.

Study.com is a fantastic resource for homeschool families. There is a wide array of classes your children can take on Study.com. You can also use their program to study for SAT's, ACT's, or CLEP tests. One of our favorite features of Study.com is that it remembers information you have learned between classes and transfers that information over so you don't have to repeat curriculum you already know. So for example, my oldest daughter took a CLEP College Algebra class on Study.com then when she took a SAT class it remembered all the math she had learned from the college algebra class and transferred that data over so she didn't have to re-practice what she already knew, saving her time and frustration!
In my family we have only used Study.com for preparing for SAT's, ACT's and for several CLEP tests. There are many other classes homeschool families could use Study.com for. There are various ways you can pay for the program too, either on a class by class basis or a monthly subscription. We've always chosen to pay per class and the fees are very reasonable.
