Simply Charlotte Mason is a favorite curriculum and resource of mine. It is as they have named it - Simply. Everything about their curriculum is thought through and simple for the homeschool mom to add to the day. I highly recommend looking at all their curriculum if you are learning towards a Charlotte Mason style of homeschool.
There are several resources including the Scripture study, Laying Down the Rails, and their Artist study that you can use as stand alone pieces in your homeschool whether you use the rest of the curriculum or not. The artist study is my favorite artist study available. Each pack studies the life and several pieces of work that the artist painted. The art work is printed on heavy stock laminated paper and is beautiful to display in your home and there is an easy guide to read about the artist. The guide book also gives details about each painting making it so simple to use in your homeschool. Click Here to learn more about Picture Study Portfolios

Raddish is a cooking club for kids - not a curriculum like we homeschool parents know curriculum. However, if you are wanting to teach your young elementary children how to cook, but not feeling super confident in them in the kitchen - Raddish is the answer. Not only are the recipes great, but it takes all the guess work out of what you children can do or not do in the kitchen. The recipes are super easy to use, with lots of pictures and written for your children. You can sign up for a box to arrive once a month or pick the plan that works for you. When my big kids were little I used the monthly box subscription to make sure I planned a cooking night at least once a month with the Raddish box. As my children got older and learned more skills we outgrew the need for Raddish, but for just starting with kids in the kitchen it was a perfect tool for me!

Filmmaking is written for high schoolers and is a fun program that digs you into a lot of the history of filmmaking.

I adore Latin and have loved how learning Latin has grown my children's vocabulary and understanding of the English language. Personally, it's one of my favorite subjects to have my children learn as the benefits from learning Latin are enormous. Visual Latin is a gift and takes all the guess work and lack of confidence in teaching Latin away. I also have one child who is dyslexic and Visual Latin is perfect for her. The DVD's are engaging and so easy to learn from. The program is set up with a ton of repetition which enforces learning in all the best of ways. For those wanting to jump into Latin and not knowing where to start this builds a fantastic foundation.

I love that the programs can always be used with more than one student. When my children were younger they loved the games and activities that went along with the learning. As they grew older the instruction grew with them. We used to purchase and install on our computers, now I just pay for the digital version that all my children can use from whichever computer they are on. It's a fantastic program - I have 2 who learned through this program and one who still is learning. It's an easy program to use with little set up.

Each DVD is a holistic year long approach to teaching art, learning about famous artists along the way.
I used Home Art Studio when my children were younger and we were just starting our homeschool journey. We all loved the program. I am not artistic AT ALL!!! I knew I needed someone else to guide me on how to teach art and these DVD's did just that. These are great lessons for the elementary years and the art work takes just long enough to be fun but not such a long art project to be overwhelming. Most of the supplies are simple and easy to attain too. I would purchase all needed supplies for the entire year - this gave me the freedom to pick whatever day was best to engage in an art project with the kids, without having to plan or purchase things. Click Here to learn more about Home Art Studio Penmanship is a great elective to work on with your student and Perfect Reading and Beautiful Handwriting is one of my favorite options for practicing great handwriting. My 3 oldest children have all used this curriculum and enjoyed it - I saw drastic improvements in all their penmanship including my son and my left handed daughter who both had horrible penmanship. I was so impressed with their improvement in handwriting that I went through the program for myself as well and I enjoyed the class. I also love that this isn't a long class it takes just 60 days so it is a great elective to add in on a couple of months that aren't bogged down with holidays or vacations.

It’s written for middle school or early high school years. It’s a 1 year course. Though when I taught North Star Geography we took it slow and taught it over 2 years. This curriculum is written well, easy to use and we all learned and retained and had fun along the way. I also love that we are supporting a Christian family with the purchase of North Star Geography.
